The Cypriot Institute of Training/Education and Employment (KIKEA) was founded in 2007 from DEOK in order to cover the needs that lead to a correct and effective exploitation of human resource, as well as the research and study on labour and socio-economic issues in Cyprus and abroad as well. KIKEA operates autonomously but always under the supervision and guidance of DEOK and it is composed from its own educational and research team. In a lot of cases KIKEA collaborates also with external advisers (Cypriot and Europeans) so as to produce the greatest possible result. Particularly the aims of KIKEA are: The research and study of theory and practice, international and internal labour market, society and economy, labour relations and social issues. The development and reinforcement of human resource in the Cypriot and European labour market. The study and promotion of equal issues and equal opportunities in the labour market. Organize training seminars, lectures and other events on social, economically and labour issues. The popularization and enlightenment on issues that interest the members. The study of labour relations and the progress of the economy and its special sectors, as well as special issues that they will be assigned by its members.
For the achievement of the above mentioned, KIKEA organises researches and studies on subjects that interest the members or the organizations that are connected with the members. Also organises seminars, conferences and lectures on economic, labour and more generally social interest issues as well as organisation of educational programs for political and trade-union executives and members of other institutions and organizations, political, trade-union and social organisations and other Non Governmental organizations. Also it recommends and operates first, secondary and third degree trade-union schools for professionals as well as technical-professional schools. |
